Welcome to Rickmansworth and Chess Valley Hockey Clubs, we are a medium sized hockey club based near the centre of Rickmansworth. The men’s section plays as Rickmansworth whilst the ladies’ section plays as Chess Valley. The club is well established and is nearing its centenary year, which is in the 2011/12 season. Both sections play in East leagues, the men’s section currently runs 4 teams ranging from Division 3 to Division 9; whilst the ladies’ section playing in the Five Counties league currently has 2 teams in Divisions 2 and Division 5 Our games are played at a local school, St Clement Danes in Chorleywood. Training also takes place at the school; on a Wednesday night from 8pm-9pm. We also have an active colts section catering for all ages; we have a session from 10:30 – 11:30 for under 12’s and a further session from 11:30 – 12:30 for 12 and over. The colts also have regular matches against local clubs. The club prides itself on providing a friendly, social atmosphere as well as providing competitive hockey matches for all. We have a large clubhouse with a bar on Park Road (at the bottom of Scotts Hill) in Rickmansworth The club aims to run a number of social events during the season, these range from wine tasting to quiz nights. We also have an end of season dinner. During the summer our main event is that we host one of the areas biggest mixed hockey tournaments. This is hugely popular with team attending from all over the UK. The club can get better rates for the pitch hire when we pay in advance; to encourage you all to pay up early, there is a discounted rate of £70.00 if your subs are with the treasurer by the 2nd October.
